Vol 22, No 4 (2025): Journal of Non-Destructive Testing & Evaluation (JNDE), December 2025

Issue Description

Issue EditorDr Saptarshi Sasmal, CSIR-SERC

This Part-I of the special issue of JNDE on "Advanced Non-Destructive Evaluation ofor Civil Infrastructure" published five invited research papers on various topics related to the theme.
This special issue on “Advanced Non-destructive Evaluation for Civil Infrastructure” -Part I aims to highlight recent advances, innovative methodologies, and field applications that push the boundaries of NDE for civil infrastructure. Advanced NDE techniques such as nonlinear ultrasonics for understanding the development of the cement microstructure, acoustic emission for checking the efficacy of strengthened concrete structures, development of smart embeddable sensor, UAV-assisted photogrammetry for noncontact inspection, procedure for structural integrity of structures in coastal areas are discussed here. The collection features contributions from leading researchers and practitioners working at the interface of non-destructive evaluation & structural health monitoring, structural engineering, material science, and signal processing, and the included articles collectively highlight how advanced NDE techniques can significantly improve the sustainability, safety, and resilience of the built environment.

This issue was released on 10th December 2025.
