Abstract
Canned pulsed eddy current sensor has been developed for creep measurement, in material testing reactors, of test specimens of metallic alloys to be used in next-generation reactors. Creep measurement in molten metal medium environment, is planned to be carried out by Pulsed eddy current testing technique, by correlation of slope of signals in the lift-off point of intersection zone to creep was designed and tested after elaborative electromagnetic modelling. The methodology using LOI has been depicted with a bare coil in room temperature conditions. This paper finds out the feasibility of using this probe in conventional eddy current testing mode. Through electromagnetic modelling frequency optimization is carried out and experiments are carried out on the sensor by connecting it to eddy current testing instrument. SS 304 shims were used for varying the gap between the sensor face and the test specimen.
